Kapelludden

Kapelludden can be reached by turning east just north of Bredsättra church toward Kapelluddens “fyr” lighthouse.

Already along the four-kilometer long road towards the boathouses on the headland, it may be worth checking the surroundings, since the Eurasian Curlew as well as the Black-tailed Godwit is nesting here.

Park at the nearest boathouses, and then walk towards the small harbor to get a better view towards the bay and the reef south of the headland. Great Cormorant, Barnacle Goose, Little Terns and Pied Avocet nest in the area, as well as a number of other species.

Kapelludden also has huge appeal for resting waders and sea birds, and is well worth a visit all year round. Especially in the fall, when tired passerines come from the east, over the ocean and gather in the tree grove at the lighthouse.
