Looking for an accommodation in hotels or guest houses on Öland? Queen Victoria’s sanatorium, dating from the 1850s, is secluded with views of Kalmarsund, just steps away from Solliden and Borgholm Castle Ruins. In our restaurant you can enjoy the best that Ölands pantry can offer. The Italian-inspired main building offers 10 charming and modern hotel rooms. The nearby Villa Red and Villa Boströmska have both four rooms each. Queen Victoria’s sanatorium is a place created for peace and quietness. Everything is here, shade from the mulberry trees, scents from the herb garden, the lovely England-inspired garden park – is there to create peace and serenity and tranquility.
Conference
Our conference room can accommodate up to 25 people. It is located in Villa Boströmska, just 50 meters from the main building. It is equipped with whiteboards, flipcharts and overhead projector.
Food and drink
The food at the sanatorium is renowned and worth a trip itself. Our hallmark is homemade and rustic cuisine with a touch of Öland. We adapt the menu to which raw materials are best for the day. All meals are served in our beautiful dining rooms in the main building. The beautiful view of Borgholm and Kalmarsund is included. We are of course fully licensed. With the food we offer wines from an especially composed wine list, inspired by Queen Victoria’s love for Italy…
Ambient
The Sanatorium is located just south of Borgholm, about 17 miles from the Öland Bridge. Secluded and yet in close walking distance to Sollidens Castle ruins and the Borgholm center. There are wonderful walking paths in our neighborhood. As a tourist, you are close to everything Öland has to offer in terms of sights, attractions, nature reserve, beaches and much more. Here are for example not less than 8 golf courses of high quality.
