The swimming area at Byrum-Sandvik consists of shallow water. It is a quite popular beach with great sand dunes. Close by there is a small port and a kiosk.
Byarum Sandvik is also Öland’s only predominantly “rauk” area – rauk is a unique rock formations created by the sea. There are a lot of broad, low stacks of “rauks”. The area is a popular starting point for various water sports, such as windsurfing, water skiing and scuba diving.
