The farm
On Havtornsgården (Sea-buckthorn farm) they grow, perhaps not surprisingly, sea-buckthorn. The farm is located on the southeastern Öland and has a very nice little farm shop with various sea-buckthorn products, vegetables, goat cheeses and also French old man’s hat.
It is grown over 60 varieties of herbs, vegetables and root crops such as potatoes, carrots in different colors, yellow beets, polka beet, onion, garlic, beans, various lettuce varieties, pumpkins and more, all of course, organically grown.
Of the farm herbs are produced artisanal good herb vinegar in different flavors.
Sea-buckthorn and fresh garlic are some specialties like roseroot whish they started cultivating on trial in 2003. Of the vitamin rich yellow sea-buckthorn, berries, marmalade, juice and chutney are made, and these products are also manufactured in other flavors.
Havtorns Gården is a KRAV-approved farm. KRAV is equivalent to IOAS (International Organic Accreditation Service) and IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements)

Café
In the summertime there is also a café at Havtorns Gården. Great buns, tasty sandwiches, and the famous “Sea-buckthorn cake”, to this you can get the farm’s own apple juice or sea-buckthorn juice.
Opening hours
Farm shop and cafe in the summer: July 1 – August 19, Tue-Sun, 11 am – 6 pm.
Self service vegetable stand from April to November, around the clock (24/7).
