The guest house
Strandbaden is one of Ölands oldest bath pensions. Ever since the century was young in the 1920s there has been a pension here. It was then, the trader Viktor Algurén built and started the Köpingsvik Strandbad, which became the first guesthouse in the village.
Köpingsvik which is one of Öland’s oldest tourist resorts, and has been visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists since then, is still today one of Öland’s premier tourist locations.
It is the fine white sandy beaches at the Kalmar strait that attract so many to come to Köpingsvik and enjoy swimming and sunbathing and Öland usually top the sun league year after year.
Apartment, flat or room
Choose your accommodation, either you wish to live in a flat with 4 beds or rooms with 2-6 beds or an apartment with two bedrooms. The building is located along the beach, only 25-35m from the ocean.
APARTMENT – around 40 sqm with two bedrooms (4 beds) consisting of a combined living room / bedroom with double bed and its furniture and bathrooms with heated floors, toilet and shower. One bedroom with two single beds and a separate hall and kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, TV and a large terrace of 21 sqm with garden furniture and a sweeping sea views.
FLAT about 15 sqm with lounge/bedroom equipped with 4 beds (either 2 bunk beds or a bunk bed and a sleeper sofa in one room), TV, kitchenette w kitchenware and a toilet/shower. You have a private entrance, porch with roof, garden furniture and ocean view. The Flats are on ground level.
ROOMS with 2, 4 or 6 beds and equipped with a double bed or bunk bed and wash basin (in some rooms). Toilets and showers are located in the lobby. All rooms are located on ground level. You have access to cooking facilities, microwave and refrigerator in the hallway.
The food
You have a great view wherever you sit in the restaurant. You can choose to sit inside the restaurant which has a whole wall of windows facing the ocean, so that you get the feeling to sit between the sky and the ocean. In summer, you can also sit outside in our newly built outdoor seating. From here you have a magnificent view over the bay and the Kalmar strait.
We have room for 60 seated indoors and about 180 people on the patio.
The restaurant also has a café and a licensed bar.
Every day at 6.30 pm, we offer a Cajun Grillbuffe and the summer lunch is served from 12 noon to 5 pm, with kids’ own menu.
The bath, activities and environment
The surrounding area consists of lawn and sandy beach with sea bathing only 25-35 m from your home. The beach is one of the best on Öland and consists of fine white sand, child-friendly and shallow. There is a promenade along the entire Gulf, two bath rafts and you can rent pedal boats, in the northern part of the beach is a handicap ramp.
In the surrounding area there is a playground for the children. In addition, miniature golf, short-hole golf, volleyball, tennis court, soccer field, paddle boats, waterslide track, cycle rentals, etc.
